Highway Department

The two main functions of the Highway Department are Road Maintenance and Snow Removal operations. as well as Road reconstruction. For new driveways on town roads there is a curb cut permit that is required and may be obtained at this office. Information needed is your name and present address, tax map number of parcel for new driveway and mark the proposed location of new driveway. There is no charge for this permit. A road opening permit is required before you can do any work on a town road. You need to contact Underground Utilities for a case number, obtain a Certificate of Insurance with the Town of Saugerties Highway Department as Policy Holder. Upon completion of these, set an appointment to have a permit filed for the work. There is no charge for this permit.
