Jimmy was born and raised in the town of Saugerties, graduated from Saugerties High
and has lived here all his life. Since
being hired by Alpha Portland Industries in 1973, he rose from his first job as
a laborer to midnight shift welder, a position he held until 1983 at which time
he left Alpha Portland Industries and went to work for IBM. Over the course of the next 22 years, Jimmy rose
from an entry level position in manufacturing, to successive management
positions, the last of which was managing an SAP group of approximately 68
individuals. As his assignments
increased in complexity, he augmented his management skills with independent
study and pursued an Associates Degree in Business Administration at SUNY Ulster.
Jimmy served as the initial and past Chair of the Town of Saugerties Comprehensive Planning Board,
was Vice Chair and a long-time member of the Town’s Planning Board, until being
elected to the Saugerties Town Board in 2009.
He was a past member of the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Town of Saugerties Water Board. He has been a member of the Glasco Fire
Company since 1971, was Team Manager of the Glasco/East Kingston Little League,
Manager of the Saugerties Babe Ruth 14/15 year old baseball team and a member
of the Saugerties Babe Ruth Board of Directors.
Along with this he has been a member of the Catskill Elks Club since
1975, a member of Saugerties Lions Club since 1989, among other roles.
In approximately 1986 Jimmy formed Timbest Inc., the
development company that developed Bishops Gate, a 163-lot subdivision that is
almost completely sold out.
In approximately 1992, along with Carol Ann Mayone, Jimmy
received a Real Estate Brokers license, opened Bishops Gate Realty Inc. and has
successfully marketed and sold lots and houses in Bishops Gate.
The recent shift in his activities towards the real
estate enterprises he cofounded in Saugerties since he left IBM, along with his
election to the Saugerties Town Board, have brought him closer to the community
that he cares about most.
