Kids and Family Day

The Town Of Saugerties is celebrating its 200-year anniversary with a full array of Bicentennial events throughout the year. On Saturday, September 10, The Kids' Family Day event takes place at the Cantine Veterans Memorial Sports Complex, Washington Ave. Ext., in Saugerties, between the hours of 11a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine. The event focuses on partnership; inspiration, education, health, safety and the environment, with additional emphasis put on sustainable living, energy conservation, along with awareness, and go green. The event is dedicated to Pete Seeger, Spook Handy and David Amram.

Admission is free to all and open to all families in The Hudson Valley and beyond. Together as partners we can join together and make this event successful for all including those with special needs. The event will have many attractions and will cover important issues that affect our daily lives.

We are very excited to showcase the Sustainable Living Roadshow (SLR) coming all the way from Oakland, CA.  SLR will be providing solar- and bike-powered stages with live music, keynote speakers, interactive workshops and more. They will also bring their original Conscious Carnival, Eco-Art Projects, a Health and Healing Tent, Sustainability Workshops and Speakers, puppet shows, natural building projects, Eco-exhibits and much more. Check them out at http://www.sustainablelivingroadshow.org.

The Town of Saugerties Emergency Services Association, along with other emergency services will be participating and demonstrating a variety of emergency services and life-saving techniques.

A variety of our sports organizations such as Little League, Babe Ruth, AYSO, Youth Hockey, Skateboarding, Boundless Edge, Saugerties Lacrosse club and others, along with the New York Rangers Road show will be offering a wide variety of sports related activities and giveaways. Further, several of the local Sportsman's Club will be participating.

Non- Profit Organizations and businesses throughout the Hudson Valley will be joining the celebration promoting their valuable services while engaging youth and family members with interactive games and activities.

Music performances by Tom Chapin, Spook Handy, Mel and Vinne, Uncle Rock, Rat Boy Jr., Dan and The Rivertown Kids, and more will be joining us for a fun filled day. Children inspiring children through music, art, dance, karate etc.

This is an event families throughout the Hudson Valley won't want to miss and you can become partners with us as well.
